BIOGRAPHY

Touils is a rising Moroccan artist known for his vibrant, joyful paintings that exude hope and positivity. Born and raised in Morocco, his journey has been shaped by resilience and determination.

Despite a childhood marked by challenges and a life-changing move to France at the age of 18, Touils has transformed his personal experiences into art that turns adversity into beauty.

Entirely self-taught, Touils began painting as a way to process his emotions and express his inner world. His style, distinguished by its bold, luminous color palette and dynamic brushwork, draws inspiration from the light and landscapes of his native Morocco.

His early works explore universal themes such as love, peace, and the desire to travel, inviting viewers into imagined destinations filled with serenity and wonder.

Touils first gained international recognition with his solo exhibition, True Colours, marking his UK debut and solidifying his reputation on the global stage.

His standout work, Cherry Rain on the Fushimi River, a striking quadriptych inspired by Japan, exemplifies his ability to blend romanticism and vibrancy, transporting audiences into a world of color and light.

How Touils works?

Touils approaches his artistic process with a blend of careful preparation and creative exploration. He begins by sketching his ideas with pastels, a step that allows him to experiment with forms, colors, and composition. These first sketches serve as the blueprint for his work.

Once his vision is clear, he transitions to the canvas, where he brings his ideas to life using a harmonious combination of oil, acrylic, and oil pastels. Touils takes an immense pleasure in playing with texture, layering materials, and building relief, which adds a dynamic and tactile dimension to his paintings. His technique creates a sense of depth and movement, making each piece a captivating, one-of-a-kind artwork.

Following the success of his Japanese inspired collection, Touils now turns his focus to the rich traditions and cultural beauty of the Arab world.

This new collection explores mosques landscapes, vibrant market scenes, and the everyday rituals of countries like Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.

Trough his distinctive use of color and composition, Touils captures the essence of these traditions, celebrating the depth and diversity of Arab culture.

Recurring motifs such as water, the warmth of the sun, vibrant colors, and the architectural beauty of mosques bring this new series to life.

Through these elements, alongside depictions of traditional rituals, Touils captures the essence of the Arab world’s cultural and spiritual richness, staying devoted to his mission of sharing light, hope, and inspiration through his art.
